What's needed:
Dream Suite is also giving away Dreamy Photo. A few of us had some difficulties with registering these programs, as they're set up for resolutions higher than 800x600. See if you can left-click-drag your registration screen to the center of your monitor, if not...click here for a registering Dream Suite filters mini tut if you dont' know how to change your resolution. I changed mine back after I registered, and everything is working fine now *S* 1. Once you've installed and registered your Dream Suite Mosaic Filter, open your graphics editor and your image you wish to put scales on (making sure to increase colors to 16mil if it isn't already). 2. Using your Magic Wand set to RGB, select the areas that you wish to place scales on. You will probably need to use your Shift key to select additional areas (PSP7 - not sure with other graphic programs). I also set my tolerance to 50 on the header image, so I woulnd't have to shift+click as much.
3. Once you've selected all your areas that you wish to scale, Promote your selection to a layer:
In PSP: Selections | Promote to Layer
4. Now you're ready to apply the Mosaic Filter; in PSP7 it's under Effects | Plug-in Filters | Auto FX Software | DS Bonus ![]() (Your Plug-in Filters will be lower down the menu; I've edited this screenshot to save download time.
5. Now your Mosaic Filter should be loaded; look for the Special Effects button and click it. It will slide out a menu towards the right, slide your cursor over the words so they become white, and two more menu's will cascade out until you see Select Preset ![]()
6. Click on the first preset (Hexagon Tiles.iqp) and then click on the OK button. Change the settings as follows: ![]() 7. Before clicking on the OK button, save your scales setting (I've noticed this plugin does not show the last used setting, so you'd have to re-enter in this setting should you ever wish to scale anything else, unless you save your preset). The Save button is right under the Special Effects button that you've already used, click that and name your preset. Now click the OK button (up top, in the center). 8. This step is optional, depending on how your scales look, I changed my Layer Blend Mode to Multiply before merging visible: ![]() I hope you enjoyed putting scales on your image 8^) Home
